Cabaret Show: The British Are Coming

February 28, 2016 @ 3:00 pm

Under the musical direction of Steve Hoifeldt, Cabaret 2016 is a tribute to the impact that British musical invasions have had on the USA throughout history. Members of the Ames Choral Society offer a nostalgic revue of memorable music with a British connection, featuring Gilbert and Sullivan, The Kinks, Petula Clark, Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Bowie, and, of course, the Beatles. Laurie Hoifeldt, Show Coordinator, in describing this year’s Cabaret, says, “During this show we will be time traveling!  Who knows who might show up?  We’re pretty sure that some version of “The Doctor” (Dr. Who) will be there, and maybe even Her Majesty the Queen will make an appearance along with familiar people from Downton Abbey. No matter who arrives, there will be lots of music and comedy, as always! And there is ‘food, glorious food’ at intermission.”
